NBA MVP 2017

İmage

Players that showed the most:

Kevin Durant
Russell Westbrook
James Harden
LeBron James
Kawhi Leonard
Isaiah Thomas
DeMarcus Cousins
Giannis Antetokounmpo
DeMar DeRozan

Others receiving consideration: Butler (Bulls), Curry (Warriors), Davis (Pelicans), Irving (Cavaliers)...

This is NOT an official NBA Ranking. It's the list of players that proven themselves the most so far in the season.

Let's do this in two ways.

1. Who do you think will be MVP (in the way NBA decides it. So the team position and their scores do influence the MVP choice)

2. Who do you think is the MVP of the league (regardless the team position)

RE: NBA MVP 2017

Harden & Harden

Durant has the best supporting cast, Beastbrook's bad shot decisions and 50-60% win percentage stand in his way, and Harden plays incredible and boosts the Rockets to heights no one really expected. If the season enden now, Harden would get it, and deservedly so. But if the Thunder continue to win, and finish with a much better record than Houstn (they are already +8), then Durant may end up winning it (because NBA), but the single most valuable player for me is Harden (and Westbrook, but Harden wins the comparison by being more successful).

RE: NBA MVP 2017

1. Harden - Harden's stats and impact + his team's winning record is definitely the formula.

2. Westbrook - Westbrook averaging a triple double in an entire season! That's more than enough to be the MVP of the league. He just do everything on the court, day in, day out.

RE: NBA MVP 2017

Probably won't happen but I'd make a case for Isaiah Thomas

He's Averaged 29.1 points and 5.9 assists per game, leading the Celtics in both categories and ranking third in the league in scoring.Making him the only player below 6 feet to achieve that in the nba

Thomas has become the league's most dangerous fourth-quarter player. He's averaging just under 10 points per fourth quarter

and Plus the Celtics are the no1 of the Eastern Conference

Being 5,9 hasn't been a hindrance to him

RE: NBA MVP 2017

If it were to me, in a heartbeat, I would give MVP to either LeBron or Kawhi. Those are players who constantly pull their teams and actually play team basketball.

Russ while having amazing stats is a typical ball raper. For God's sake last game he took 50 shots with amazingly poor SP. Like, chill dude this ain't tennis. You have five players on the pitch.

Harden is great this year, a lot better in defense than the last year but he is still below the likes of Kawhi and James.

Thomas is great offensively but he is much like Curry. Great shooter and that is that. But if being great at 3 points can get you two MVPs then I guess Isaiah deserves to be considered too.

So for me.

Kawhi/LeBron
Lebron/Kawhi
Russ (above Harden only cause he averaged TD)
Harden
Thomas

Kawhi's been great for spurs and his recent game against the Grizzlies put in great numbers even though they lost

RE: NBA MVP 2017

Most Valuable Player:
I'd still give the MVP to Westbrook, as I said somewhere before.

Coach Of The Year:
Okay, I don't agree with that list at all. Pop is only there because of his name, and the last thing I'd do is reward D'Antoni's style of spamming threes and drawing fouls.

So the only one left is Spoesltra. Admittedly, that mid-season turnaround with the Heat was amazing, but ideally I'd have given this to Stevens (Celtics) or Snyder (Jazz).

Rookie Of The Year:
Embiid, and it's not even close. He may have been injured for good part of the season, but when he played, he was leagues above any other rookie.

Defensive Player Of The Year:
Draymond and Gobert are both deserving.

Gobert has had an extremely impressive defensive season and if he wins it, I will not complain at all. Likewise, Draymond is the heart and soul of the best team in the NBA.

Sixth Man Award:
Not much to say here. I'd give it to Gordon.

Most Improved Player:
I'd say Giannis is a lock for this one.

You'd think that we'd all learn that Lebron only flips his switch when it's the postseason
