Homework & Math Help Thread

Need help with your homework? We can help! ;)

Yesterday, we joked about how Marineford is actually an Anime/Math forum. :P And later that night, @Gobee129 helped @WizManAngry with his math homework. We also helped @Luffuzaki in the past, so this gave me the idea to make this thread. ^.^

If you need any help, just post the problem or the homework here, and we will try to help. We have some users who are very good at math, still dealing with it daily in their university (like Gobee, myself, I think Soli as well). :3

If you are too shy to ask here, you can also just send us a PM. Especially Wobee is someone who likes to help with math problems, he's really good with that. hehe

So don't be shy and just ask us, and then we will help you. :)

I'll give it a try. I make this as small as possible.

When a altitude is given for a right angle traingle, the ratio should be like this.

TU/RT = TS/TU

so 15/16 = TS/15

TS = (15*15)/16

TS = 14.0625

RS =TS + RT = 14.0625 + 16 = 30.0625

Next ratio

RT/RU = RU/RS

RT*RS= RU*RU

16*30.0625 = RU*RU

RU = √481

Sorry if i got this wrong, i'll be back in another 14 hours or so, i'll check it again.

That's not right since RT = 16+TS

The solution would be:

TU/RT = TS/TU

=> 15/(16+TS) = TS/15

=> TS^2 + 16*TS = 225

=> TS^2 + 16* TS - 225 = 0

Solving the above equation, we get
TS = 9

Next ratio

RT/RU = RU/RS

=> 25/RU = RU/34

=> RU^2 = 25*34

=> RU^2 = 850

=> RU = 29.15

The simplest radical form would be RU = 5 √34

I was in a hurry, so I might have done something wrong ;)

Anan did it the correct way. Would have been nicer if you added brackets to make it extra clear what belongs together.

So yeah seems like we can all help each other :3 isnt that nice hehe

RE: Help With Your Homework & Math

My results are the same as Anan's. :)

TS = 9
RU = √850 = 5 * √34

After you found TS = 9, you can also use Pythagoras: RU² = RT² + TU² = 25² + 15² = 850 ;)

The problem with that integral is that it's not clear written. They should have used brackets. It could be (sin(x)^-1) + 1, it could also be meant as sin(x+1)^-1. That being said, I went for the first option, because it makes more sense, and then I get this, using partial integration:
